Jimmy Hamilton is a long-standing highly regarded pianist in the Twin Cities. He was a familiar performer at the Lafayette Club and other venues. Recently retired from his position as Adjunct Professor of Jazz Studies at Carleton College, he also appears with Percy Hughes’ Ellington Echoes. Jimmy includes toured (on organ) with Ray Charles, and with the USO, and served the old Minneapolis Central High School as band director. He was also the piano teacher to many, including Prince. He wowed the crowd at our recent Bobby Peterson Memorial Showcase and is comong back for more.
