When it comes to celebrating the great ones, bassist Charles Mingus certainly earned his due. Born April 22, 1922, Mingus was a musical explorer and a bassist and composer of the first order. In his 56 years on Earth, he created a gigantic legacy. Adam Linz was born to do this gig. Linz has a Bachelor of Music degree from the William Paterson University Jazz Studies Program and is now on the faculty at MacPhail.  He has taught at Music Tech, Mars Music and at the Minnesota Institute for Talented Youth.  He is an active performer in the Twin Cities in various creative music ensembles iincluding Fat Kid Wednesdays.
