February’s special guest feature: DESSA of Doomtree. Dessa is a poet, writer, and Professor at McNally Smith college of music, but she is most commonly known as one of the most notable female underground hip hop artists in the country, and member of the nationally known musical group/collective – Doomtree. She is a recipient of the Jerome Verve grant, she has twice been nominated for a MN music award, and has appeared in New York’s Vestal Review, amongst others, and can give you some serious lessons on being cool. www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8jQ26ab6to
