In New York, Bassist Anthony Cox developed an international reputation. His resume includes stints with Joe Lovano, Stan Getz, Steve Lacy and Ed Blackwell, as well as recordings with Dewey Redman, Sam Rivers, Geri Allen, Arthur Blythe, and Uri Caine, among others. Since returning to the Twin Cities, he has shared the stage with his own ensembles (including Carnatic Energy,) and in the company of such heavy hitters as Dave King, the Grismore Scea Group and more. Drummer Phil Hey is a hard bop beat keeper with the power of a prizefighter, in that elegant Ali style that incorporates grace and cunning. Named "Best Jazz Artist" of 2006 by City Pages, Phil was raised in the jazz drumming factory that is Philadelphia. His road work with the likes of Jay McShann, Dewey Redman and Benny Golson says a lot about the esteem he has gathered. Pianist Chris Lomheim was a member of The Illicit Sextet, and his own trio gigs (including the recording The Bridge) demonstrate a monster imagination and talented intensity that make him one of a kind.
