The Artists' Quarter - Friday, June 20 - Saturday, June 21, Twin Cities Jazz Festival Jam with Special Guests (9 pm, $10)

The Twin Cities Jazz Festival takes over Mears Park in Downtown St. Paul for Friday and Saturday showcases. While the outdoor events must give way to local noise ordinances, a lawmaker’s “noise” is a jazz fans splendor. That’s why the party moves over to the AQ to take it into the night – and musicians from the Festival will be stopping by to join in with the band. You never know who will show up, but with Jerry Gonzalez & The Fort Apache Band in Mears Park on Friday and the Ravi Coltrane Quartet on Saturday, there are bound to be some hot players who aren’t quite ready to turn in for the evening news. The Twin Cities Jazz Festival’s weekend in Mears Park always makes for incredible nights of jazz at the AQ.
