For the first time in the U.S., pianist Bill Carrothers performs his epic 2003 Armistice 1918 release in concert. Armistice 1918 explores the stories of World War I, from the lead up to the war to Armistice Day. Carrothers always combines that rare mix of the cerebral and the grippingly musical, and his passion for the subject matter informs this awe-inspiring work. Complete with vocals, cello, contrabass clarinet, Carrothers’ brilliant piano and a three-piece rhythm section, Armistice 1918 is not just a musical experience – it’s an event. Carrothers, a Minnesota native turned Michigan transplant, has traveled the world with the best in jazz. Come share in this musical achievement. Bill Carrothers' Armistice Band U.S. Premiere features Bill Carrothers on piano, Gordy Johnson: bass, Jean-Marc Foltz: bass clarinet, Matt Turner: cello, Peg Carrothers: vocal, Jay Epstein: percussion/sound effects, and Dre Pallemaerts: drums.
