Dan Musselman will be reuniting a quartet - featuring some visiting musician, who Dan says are some of the most incredibly gifted musicians he has ever met. They include Hermon Mehari on trumpet, Brian Steever on drums, and Zach Beeson on bass. After spending a month in Paris performing, Hermon Mehari just took 2nd place in jazz improv at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in Sydney, Australia.
An AQ favorite with a weekly gig in the Tuesday night early band, Dan Musselman is a jazz pianist and composer who leaves a lasting impression with listeners. With his technical ability and sensitive musicianship, Dan gives an emotional, high-intensity performance that showcases his eclectic style. He has studied with jazz legends Craig Taborn (pianist for Chris Potter) and Kenny Werner (author of Effortless Mastery) and has been a featured artist in Jazziz Magazine. Dan graduated from McNally Smith College of Music with his bachelors degree in Piano Performance in April 2008. He graduated summa cum laude, was salutatorian and was the sole recipient of the “Outstanding Student Award.” In April 2008, Dan released his first solo album entitled Ruminations. It has received many accolades and much attention. In February of 2009, Dan released a duo album with vocalist Rachel Holder entitled Save Your Love for Me.
