The Artists' Quarter's hottest night opens with an exciting band featuring Zach W. Schmidt, Cory J. Wong, Cassie Meyer, Jose Pena and Dan M. Musselman starting at 7:00 P.M. These young, talented musicians provide the perfect prelude to the AQ's longest standing engagement. Check this recent video

Then, for the main event sample some 'organic cookin' with the Tuesday Night Band. Hammond B-3 organ lovers have been flocking to the AQ on Tuesday nights for over a decade to get a soulful dose of funky jazz. The Tuesday Night Band features "Downtown" Bill Brown (Hammond B-3), Billy Franze (guitar), and Kenny Horst (drums) + guests! Anything can happen - and frequently does. Headspace, featuring Rob Dewey on piano, Nick Haas on guitar, Rich Casey on bass and Spencer McGinnis on drums provide deep sonic explorations, probing the farthest reaches with finely tuned instruments. Two sets, beginning at 7:30pm. No cover. Every Monday - except the first Monday of the month.

There’s a story to be told on Valentine’s Day that goes somewhat deeper than your average Hallmark® card. If love and romance have deep meaning in your book, Carole Martin will give it a voice. This elegant alto sings songs straight from the heart, with a sultry and smoky voice that misses none of the nuances when it comes to that Cupid scene. Her repertoire of torch songs covers all of the terrain – from the giddy (“I’ve Got You Under My Skin”) to the melancholy (“Going Back to Joe’s”). Since the 1960s, Carole has been a favorite interpreter of all things love. A Champagne Special adds the sweet touch.

Any day that saxophonist Pete Whitman is leading a group on the band stand, well that’s a lucky day in our book. Pete’s long list of credentials includes touring the world with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and receiving a 4-star review in DownBeat magazine (for his X-tet’s release Where’s When?). The man can swing. Pete's stellar quartet also features Kevin Washington on drums, Jay Young on bass and Peter Schimke on piano.
