ImageA singer, pianist, and charmer nonpareil, Jeanne is the matriarch of Minnesota’s First Family of Music. This amazing talent spent 22 years as a staff vocalist and pianist on WCCO, the Twin Cities largest radio station, all the while playing nightclubs and recording in studios. Image Jeanne's career has many highlights, including performances with Bob Hope, Sonny Stitt and George Benson, just to name a few. ImageFramework features drummer Jay Epstein, guitarist Chris Olson and bassist Chris Bates. You can expect a lot of creative interplay as this trio introduces original works and tackles covers of John Scofield, Dave Holland, and Chick Corea. Chris Bates, an AQ regular in How Birds Work, also collaborates with Epstein and Dean Magraw on Red Planet. Guitarist Chris Olson teaches  music theory, ear training, improvisation, guitar, ensembles, and a summer jazz workshop at McNally Smith College of Music in Saint Paul, MN.

Wednesday, April 16, Dave Karr Quartet (9 pm, $5)
ImageFor over 50 years, saxophonist/flutist/clarinetist/composer Dave Karr has been performing with many of the best national and Twin Cities jazz artists.  The NYC native grew up seeing the great jazz legends like Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie, and he got the bug.  Karr moved to the Twin Cities in his twenties, and has long established himself as one of the best-loved characters in the jazz scene.  Whether he’s in the orchestra of a touring Broadway hit, providing flourishes to the shows of top Twin Cities singers, leading his Gerry Mulligan tribute band on baritone sax or fronting his own quartet, Karr is a standout.  “[Dave's] fluid style is both exciting and elegant,”  JazzPolice.com. Check out this video of Dave  performing "Zoot Walks In", or this one of Dave playing "Oleo"  at the AQ. Everybody, everbody, digs Dave.

ImageThen, for the main event sample some 'organic cookin' with the Tuesday Night Band.
