Friday, November 16 - Saturday the 17th, Patty Peterson Birthday w Jeanne Arlan Peterson (9 pm, $10)
Friday, 16 November 2007
ImageImageSome birthdays are just more special than others.  Patty Peterson has long been acknowledged as one of the Twin Cities top singers.  Her stellar solo albums, mantel full of MN Music Awards, and recordings and performances with other luminaries (David Sanborn, Steve Miller, Ben Sidran, et al.) have all made this first-class jazz and R&B vocalist a treasure.  A health crisis in February (call it a matter of the heart) put Patty through emergency surgery and provided quite a scare for her loved ones (which includes legions of fans).  Patty has willed her way to a recovery that is only stunning if you are unfamiliar with her resolve – but still qualifies as miraculous.  With a trio led by her piano-playing mom (the matriarch of the wildly talented Peterson Family), Patty sings for us all as we celebrate her very special birthday.

Thursday, November 15, Gregg Inhofer CD Release Party (8 pm, $3)
Thursday, 15 November 2007

ImageGregg Inhofer has been a mainstay on the local music scene for more than three decades.  It’s fair to say that his keyboard work is heard around the world on a daily basis – that’s Gregg playing the Hammond organ on several cuts on Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks.  Touring with 70s icon Olivia Newton-John, playing guitar and keyboards in numerous Twin Cities bands, and on and on, Gregg has paid his dues (with interest).  It’s a true pleasure to see this talent step out of the supporting role and release his own CD, Inside.  Recorded live in 2006, the all-original tunes are pure Gregg – just voice, piano and soul.  This will be a must-see performance by a songwriter who unflinchingly takes you “inside” with powerful R&B-tinged vocals, captivating musicianship and genuine charisma.
